What is included in a Broad View cabin booking?

A Broad View cabin booking includes the heated room with private bathroom, breakfast and dinner each day, fresh towels, drinking water, and 24-hour staff coverage. The 2026 rate covers two adults sharing in a Standard cabin (USD 60) or up to six guests in a Family cabin (USD 110). Lunches and pack lunches for trekking days cost USD 8–12 extra. Optional add-ons include guided treks, jeep transfer from Raikot Bridge, mule porterage, and laundry.

How are the cabins warm without central heating?

Each Broad View cabin is built from local timber with double-thickness walls insulated with sheep wool — a traditional Diamer District method that holds 18–22 °C indoor warmth even on October nights when outside drops to 5 °C. A cast-iron wood stove in each cabin is lit by staff at 18:00 and refuelled overnight. The chimney is independent from neighbouring cabins so smoke does not transfer between rooms. Carbon-monoxide detectors fitted in 2024 are checked at every changeover.

What food does Broad View serve?

The Broad View kitchen serves Pakistani standards including dal, sabzi, chicken karahi, mutton biryani, and freshly-baked roti from the on-site clay oven. Continental breakfasts (eggs, porridge, toast, fruit) are available on request the previous evening. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are prepared with 24-hour notice. Dinner is served at 19:30, breakfast 07:00–09:30. Coffee, masala chai, and herbal tea are unlimited and complimentary.

How does the camping option work?

Camping at Broad View runs in two formats. The provided-tent option (USD 25 per person, per night) gives guests a four-season tent already pitched on a dedicated wooden platform with a foam mattress, sleeping bag, ground sheet, and a head-torch. The bring-your-own option (USD 12 per pitch) supplies a flat platform, water tap access, and firewood on request. Both formats share a heated ablution block with hot showers from 06:00 to 22:00. Breakfast and dinner are charged separately at USD 6 and USD 9.
